Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Federico Garcia Lorca's creation of this undisputed theatrical classic, TheatreiNQ presents a unique retelling for our times and our town.

The House of Bernarda Alba is a community, a fellowship, a cage.

Following the death of her second husband, Bernarda insists that The House will observe eight years of mourning to honour his memory. For eight years, she and her five daughters will remain isolated from the outside world.  But Bernarda soon discovers it won't be easy keeping control - of the House, the family fortune or her daughters.

She must be vigilant and firm.

She must be watchful.

Ever watchful.

Adapted by Artistic Director Terri Brabon, this psychological thriller proves that while times may change, human nature does not.
