Local Chorus Audition Information
In 2025, TheatreiNQ presented ‘THE ASSIGNMENT’ a brand-new work written and directed by TheatreiNQ’s Artistic Director, Terri Brabon for the company’s Main Stage Season. THE ASSIGNMENT was written for and performed by the company's emerging artist training program,The Bridge Project, run by Terri Brabon and Brendan O’Connor.
In 2026, we are very excited that in association with DARTS, Regional Arts Fund and Touring Queensland, we are able to take THE ASSIGNMENT on a regional tour to Perseverance Street Theatre Company (Gympie) Yeppoon Town Hall (Yeppoon) and JUTE Theatre Company (Cairns). THE ASSIGNMENT Regional Tour will feature 5 members of the original production with up to 7 additional speaking roles filled by emerging artists from each region.
1. How do I apply?
Auditions for THE ASSIGNMENT will be held via self-tape. Fill out the Application Form here. When you apply, you will be contacted by a member team with details on how to send through your self-tape.
2. What are you looking for?
We are looking to cast up to 7 small speaking roles in each region. You can find more information about the characters we are auditioning for on the Character Briefings page found here. Most of the characters are aged 15-16 but all applicants must be 15 years or older.
3. What do I need to prepare for the self-tape audition?
* Please find some information on how to film a self-tape here.
* Download the audition scene booklet found here and learn the character/s scene you are auditioning for.
* You can audition for as many characters as you would like. You will just need to submit a tape for each character.
* Film your self-tape and follow emailed instructions to submit.
* See your location for Self Tape Audition deadlines.
4. Will there be “Call-Backs”?
Maybe. We may request a short ‘getting to know you’ interview. If so, we will organise to meet you via zoom.
5. When will I know if I have been successful or not?
We will endeavour to let you know no later than a week after the self tape audition deadline.
