By Bertolt Brecht
Adapted & Directed by Terri Brabon
Arturo Ui is a small-time gangster, down on his luck but with a grand vision.
And he'll stop at nothing to get it.
"Know that if you are not with me, completely,
Then you are against me, entirely.
There is no f*#@ing fence for you to sit on."
Written just before the outbreak of World War II, Brecht's cautionary satirical take on the rise of
Adolf Hitler resonates just as sharply today as it did then, forcing us to question our every thought.
Is it possible that Hitler could have been prevented?
Can we prevent history from repeating?
Have we learned our lesson?
Artistic Director Terri Brabon's original Australian adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's groundbreaking work,
retains the authenticity of the 1930's gangster setting, whilst utilising the poetic nature of the
Australian vernacular of that period.
Featuring Brendan O'Connor in the title role, the cast includes Badaidilaga Maftuh-Flynn,
Robert Street, Sally McCutcheon, Michael Sams, John Goodson
alongside the incredible talents of the TheatreiNQ Ensemble and The Bridge Project.
So step back in time and join us for an EPIC thrill ride through History!
