![Alongside this year's PlayGround Playwrights, we will also be presenting a special reading of HUNTERS. This work was written by local playwright, Michael Sams and went through a creative development period at JUTE Theatre Company earlier this year. With thanks to the Regional Arts Development Fund, TheatreiNQ are proud to present a local public reading as part of our PlayGround Writers Festival.
HUNTERS
In a hunting cabin filled booze and a loaded gun, on one winter night family tensions between three generations of men expose wounds old and new until the hunted becomes the hunter.
MICHAEL SAMS
Michael’s plays have been performed overseas (Dubai & New York) and around Australia, with several adapted into podcasts and radio plays. He’s a published playwright (Australian Plays Transform [APT] & Amazon) with several of his full-length works supported by Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants. 2022 - Playlab Incubator program & Masters of Creative Writing (Macquarie Uni). 2025 – Hunters creative development (RADF), Erin Thomas Playwriting Fund recipient (APT), Playlab Gather program, first professional dramaturgy gig, first professional play commission.
